Bigfoot – Why I think it’s possible

I will admit that I have always been intrigued with the idea of Bigfoot. And like most of us out there, we see bigfoot as the creature portrayed in the footage captured in 1967 by Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin.  What most people don’t know is that they were filming a Bigfoot documentary.  So, you say, of course this is a fake.  It’s way to obvious.  I am sure you have heard “experts” dispute the film with conjecture.  It is also possible you have watched documentaries where an expert panel of costume designers have stated they could have made it and it’s clearly a costume.  Well, I challenge you to show me anyone who has been able to reproduce this costume.  Even more, do it with the technology available in 1967. Of course, I am not in the business and I can only take away from these documentaries what seems accurate. In recent years, there has been some amazing analyzation of the film. People like Bill Munns (, a professional makeup and costume special effects designer, decides to dispel the film with his knowledge of gorilla suits and the technology.  He has since changed his stance and now spend his time analyzing the film and has only found evidence to prove its authenticity.

Like Bill Munns, I looked at the film with scepticism.  I try not to let my feelings or wants to blur the facts.  I had not seen any evidence to prove or disprove the film.  Just lots of opinions from so-called experts.  In the past few years my scepticism has turned to optimism. While it’s still not been proven to myself or science, some of the evidence that has recently been discovered with image stabilization and photo enhancement techniques have put me in the group of people who think it is very likely that the Patterson/Gimlin film portrays a 7 foot tall female Sasquatch.  An undiscovered hominid living in the forest of North America and possibly around the globe.

Patty’s Toes

It has been proven that the creature in the film is around 7.5 feet tall based on the film lens used and the distances measured on location.  There are also alleged track casts taken from the path after it was filmed.  The film analysis has shown something quite interesting.  The toes raise up when the foot is lifted.  This looks very natural and to my eyes proves that the feet are indeed not just prosthetics used to simulate the large feet.

The Soles of Patty’s Feet

The next is a stabilizes and enhanced shot of the sole of the foot.  If this is a prosthetic, it is every bit as amazing as is the fur costume and massive human wearing it.  The sole is a match to what you would expect based on the footprints.

You may come away from this with no change in your viewpoint.  I would hope you at least open yourself up to the possibility.

“…you’re talking about a yeti or bigfoot or Sasquatch. Well now, you’ll be amazed when I tell you that I’m sure that they exist.”

“Given the scientific evidence that I have examined, I’m convinced there’s a creature out there that is yet to be identified”
